d3 AWARDS OPEN CALL

1. Introduction

1.1. This website is the website of Dubai Design District FZ-LLC ("d3", "we", "us" or "our"). d3 is a free zone limited liability company registered in the Dubai Development Authority.

1.2. References to “Participant”, “you”, “your” and “yours” are references to the person(s) accessing the Sites (as defined below).

2. Accessing Means You Agree

2.1 By accessing this websites ("Site"), and/or by registering on a Site, you agree to comply with the Submission requirements, terms of use and our privacy policy (together, our "Legal Terms"), whether or not you register on a Site.

If you do not agree to our Legal Terms, do not access, view or otherwise use any of our Sites or register as a user.

3. Submission Requirements for d3 Award

3.1 Your submission shall be made through [https://www.d3awards.com/howtoapply] by 17 October 2025, 11:59 PM GMT (“Submission”).

3.2 The Submissions must include:

3.2.1 [Application form / Proposal concept statement, image references and renders / Portfolio / CV / etc.]

3.2.2 [Optional: Supporting materials, such as photos, videos, letters of recommendation]

3.2.3 The Submissions must be original, and the Participant must hold the rights to all submitted materials.

3.2.4 The Submissions using previously executed projects will not be eligible to participate in d3 Awards.

3.2.5 d3 reserves the right to request further details in connection with Your Submission.

4. Selection Criteria

4.1 The Submissions will be judged based on:

4.1.1 Creativity / Innovation / Impact / Relevance to theme.

4.1.2 Jury panel shall consist of design professionals, curators and industry leaders in the design field.

4.1.3 The decision of the jury shall be final, binding, and conclusive, and no further correspondence or discussion shall be entertained in relation thereto.

5. Shortlisted Participants

5.1 Shortlisted Participants will showcase at the d3 Architecture Exhibition at Dubai Design Week 2025.

5.2 A winner shall be selected from the shortlisted Participants.

6. Award

6.1 The winner will receive:

6.1.1 A monetary award of AED 100,000.

6.1.2 Media exposure and feature placements on d3’s social media channels, marketing collateral, and website shall be provided at the sole discretion of d3..

6.1.3 Online mentorship session with a jury member or industry expert aligned with the winners’s design field.

6.1.4 Custom-designed award by a regional designer.

6.2 d3 reserves the right to withhold the award if no suitable Submission is found or selected by the jury.The Sites may include chat rooms, bulletin boards, discussion groups and other public areas that allow you to interact with other users and any of our staff, who will be clearly identified as such, ("Forums") and to post/transmit/upload ("Post") your content to the Sites ("User-Generated Content") such as reviews, blogs and gallery.

7. Notification of Shortlisted Participants and Winner

7.1 The shortlisted Participants will be notified by [October 24 2025] via [ hello@d3awards.com].

7.2 The winner shall be announced from shortlisted Participants during Dubai Design Week 2025.

7.3 Public announcement of the winner will be made on [website/social media/etc.].

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 The Participants shall retain all intellectual property and proprietary rights in and to their work Submissions.

8.2 By lodging Your Submission, You grant d3, a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use the Submissions for promotional, educational, or archival purposes (with appropriate credit), both during and after the event.

8.3 You represent, warrant, and acknowledge that Your Submission:

a. is Your own original work,

b. is authentic and not copied, adapted, or derived from any third-party work without authorization, and

c. does not infringe upon any copyright, trademark, moral right, or other intellectual property or proprietary rights of any third party.

8.4 d3, shall not be responsible for verifying the ownership or originality of any Submission and shall have no liability whatsoever in respect of any claim, loss, or damage arising from any third-party intellectual property infringement or alleged infringement by You.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

9.1 The personal information that you provide to us will only be used by us in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which can be accessed via [https://www.d3awards.com/privacynotice] on the Site. Our Privacy Policy does not apply to third party Sites.

10. Disqualification 

10.1 d3 reserves the right to disqualify any Submission that violates the Submission requirements or is deemed inappropriate, offensive, or plagiarized. 

11. Changes and Cancellation

11.1 d3 reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or amend the open call, award or the Legal Terms at any time without prior notice due to unforeseen circumstances.

12. Acceptance of Terms

12.1 By submitting an application, the Participant agrees to be bound by the Legal Terms.

12.2 The Winner may be required to sign a separate contract with d3 prior to receiving the award.
